The environmental marketing includes sustainable development.

Here a funny video on a sustainable dance club …

We can see some people dancing in a night club on a luminous dance floor. When their feet touch the ground it lights up, and this energy is sending on a big battery, representing on a screen, which is recharging each time it receive energy. And when the battery is full, the music sound goes up.

Maybe it’s an ecological concept for the future! It’s a funny concept; the dance floor is illuminating when people dance, so it’s motivating and amusing and very original. We can imagine we are in the Saturday night fever … and John Travolta will join us! Who knows!

Amusing Coca cola advertising !

I choose this video of Coca cola because i found it funny. It’s an advertising which was diffused on Australia. It presents coca cola like a natural thing with funny characters. It’s both for children and adult,it’s add is amusing and a new view of Coca Cola. Usually Coca Cola make advertisement in connection with Christmas or like the current with adult. It used to present Coca Cola as an extraodinary drink with a very surprising taste, like if it was an incontrovertible product.

In this add it’s different because it presents Coca Cola as a special product but under the form of a cartoon, which is not realistic like usually the Coca Cola add’s are.

I can’t put the video on my blog so clink on the link to watch it !
Soory but it is extracted from www.pubstv.com/video/publicites-0-971/Australie-7.html

This week i will talk to you about brands which use green marketing and i will take the example of Coca Cola and Adidas. I took these two brands as example because there are known throughout the world.

First, Coca Cola wants to launch a new concept in a new campaign that is “sustainable well-being”. They do taht to their consumers who put a priority that products are increasingly ecological and theit choice are increasingly moving to such products. Moreover they want to keep a good image  and improve it by creating a new conept of walfare.

The sustainability for Coca Cola seems to be very important. They have a heading on their official website which is www.coca-cola.com on which they explain their policy about sustainability. They axplain their main areas of development which are : protecting water resources; offering safe, quality products; Innovating packaging; sustaining community; respecting theit people; supporting active, healthy living. Their slogan is :”Our business is only as strong and sustainable as the communities in which we operate.”

About Adidas they created a collection of shoes called Adidas grün (green) and they decided to change their policy and “minimize their environmental impact by efficientcly using natural resources involved in his production and packaging”. To follow, an article  which will explain this:

Adidas Releases CSR Report

adidas-releases-csr-5303.jpgAdidas Group has released a corporate responsibility report (PDF).
In 2007, Adidas say that all Group athletic footwear factories became part of the reporting program. Factories new to the indicators recorded data with less accuracy than those that have already been working with the indicators for a few years. In 2007 Adidas saw an increase in the average consumption of key resources per pair of shoes since Reebok footwear factories joined the system and they have yet to improve environmental efficiencies, according to the company.

The report highlights the new Adidas Grün (‘green’), a collection of footwear and apparel for men and women that the company says minimizes its environmental impact by efficiently using natural resources involved in ts production and packaging.

The company also released a 2007 Environmental Statement (PDF).

The report is the first since Adidas acquisition of Reebok. Last year, the company discussed its attempt to to create a unified approach to managing and measuring the Adidas Group’s social and environmental impacts.

Environmental  marketing  gather the conception and  the production of the products ; the manner to conceive and to product it. The corporate culture and image as well as the policy,  have to take care of the environment.  And Finally the respect of the environment by the company or the organization is essential. The packaging of the products have to be recyclable.

The video I put on my web site is a video in which Patrick Dixon, who in fact a Doctor and equally  the author of Futurewise, is explaining the importance of the packaging in the sustainable marketing and why it is essential for the global warming.  Dr Patrick Dixon is a business thinker and futurist. His Web TV site  has more than 11 million unique users. He is Chairman of Global Change Ltd, author of twelve books (485,000 printed in 23 languages) including Futurewise and Building a better business, has spoken to audiences in 50 nations, has given hundreds of radio and TV interviews on major issues and trends, and has been ranked as one of the 20 most influential business thinkers alive today. I put this video because undeniably, sustainable marketing and the global warming are linked. The green marketing was created when Human saw that they were destroying the planet and found solutions to keep it alive, as long as they can.

Green marketing and companies

With increasing consummer awareness on the environment; companies are now adapting their marketing stategies to minimize their impact on the environment around them. This has an impact on the marketing mix ( product, price, place and promotion). The companies has to make important decisions about their product, and today these are influenced by environmental factors. Green marketing has to satisfy two objectives : improved environmental quality and customer satisfaction.

Along with the rise of green consumers, we see the rise of ecolabeling, green advertising and the importance of the environmental reporting. But how do companies can respect the environment?

There are many environmental questions a company has to ask itself about itsproduct,if thay are to consider themselves as environmentally surround.

What is the impact of the production, sourcing of materials and packaging? Are we use energy efficient and environmentally sound techniques? Is the packaging environmentally friendly and biodegradable ?

In the next post I will show you the place of the green marketing on big brands. A lot of brands are sustainable marketing to improve their corporate image and recognition.

What is the environmental marketing?

For the first post of my blog, I’ve decided to put a definition to explain what the environmental marketing is and when did it appear. The environmental marketing is equally nammed eco-marketing, sustainable marketing and green marketing. I took a very clear and complete definition on the website “answers.com”. So enjoy the reading!

“Promotion of environmentally safe or beneficial products. Green marketing began in Europe in the early 1980s when certain products were found to be harmful to the earth’s atmosphere. Consequently new types of products were created, called “green” products, that would cause less damage to the environment. The movement quickly caught on in the United States and has been growing steadily ever since. The development of ecologically safer products, recyclable and biodegradable packaging, energy-efficient operations, and better pollution controls are all aspects of green marketing. Green marketing has produced advances such as packages using recycled paper, phosphate-free detergents, refill containers for cleaning products, and bottles using less plastic.”

Welcome to my blog!

I have chosen the environmental marketing as subject for my blog because i think taking care of the environment is an important thing to do to preserve the planet. Today, ecology affects all areas. Solutions are implemented by the state, so that everyone can participate in saving the planet.

For example : recycling waste individually or  the development of cars which are less polluting…

The picture i have chosen to characterize my blog represents two trees in two different chocks. One is tall, the other is younger and therefore smaller. On the big tree appear yhe inscription “marketing” and on the small “sustainable” .

I liked this picture for these colors and its meaning :

the big tree is the marketing, which refers to the scale and and development of this area. And the little represents the sustainable development, ecology which is being developed to expand. Moreover, the large pink is a reflexion of fantasy and the creation of marketing, and the little that is green symbolizes nature, simply !

To summarized, this picture shows that the eco marketing is being developed.

Thanks for visiting my blog.

Enjoy !
